We’re recruiting for a Project Manager to help us bring people together through dance.
Curious Motion is an arts organisation using dance to tackle loneliness and isolation. Our exciting new three-year project, Calder Movers and Creators, will develop our year-round programme of classes and workshops and help us find a permanent home for our work.
We’re looking for a compassionate, organised and community-minded Project Manager to help us grow our work across Elland and Calderdale.
We’re looking for someone who shares our belief in the impact of dance to bring people together and create a sense of belonging.
As project manager, you’ll take day-to-day ownership of Calder Movers and Creators, ensuring the programme thrives and meets the needs of the community.
You’ll build relationships with participants, local partners and referral organisations, coordinate classes, workshops and events, manage budgets and project reporting, and lead the search for a permanent studio space. Working closely with our Artistic Director, you’ll also help shape the future of our small but ambitious organisation.
This is a varied role for someone who enjoys making things happen and working collaboratively.
You’ll have experience managing community, arts or health and wellbeing programmes, strong organisational and communication skills, and confidence managing budgets and working with a range of people.
Just as importantly, you’ll bring empathy, curiosity, flexibility and a commitment to equity, inclusion and belonging. You’ll be excited about building genuine relationships in our community and helping create welcoming opportunities for people to connect through dance.
We particularly welcome applications from people with a range of lived experiences, including disabled and neurodivergent people, people from Black, Asian and ethnically diverse communities, LGBTQ+ people, and people with experience of health inequalities.
A full UK driving licence and access to a car are essential. The role is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
We welcome applications in writing, audio or video format.
In your application, we’d love it if you could tell us about your relevant experience and skills, how your values align with ours, what you would bring to Curious Motion, and why you’d like to work with us.
Please send your application to recruitment@curiousmotion.org.uk and complete our equality and diversity monitoring form.
Application deadline: 5pm, Wednesday 4th November 2026. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to interview in Elland/Halifax on Wednesday 18 November 2026.
