Samantha McCormick
Artistic Director / Co-Founder
Sam is a Dance Artist with over 14 years of professional experience, primarily around community practice and positive social change. Sam has a passion for working with people, and loves to explore and discover, providing a inclusive space for people to take risks and be themselves. Sam believes in joy, love, kindness, friendship, and fun, so you’ll find these are at the core of Curious Motion too!
Outside of Curious Motion, Sam is also Head of Dance for Flamingo Chicks, an inclusive dance charity that provides opportunities for disabled children to dance alongside their friends, an Associate Artist for English National Ballet, and she is also part of the Learning and Participation team at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance in Leeds. She is also a Trustee at Ascendance and Voluntary Action Calderdale.
Sam trained at Bretton Hall (University of Leeds), the Scottish School of Contemporary Dance, and she completed her MA in Contemporary Dance at London Contemporary Dance School.
