Originally from Huddersfield, Molly moved to London after finishing a degree in English and Politics at Swansea University. She has had a varied career working with the United Nations High Commission for Refugees, organising English Language conferences in Europe for the University of Cambridge and working as a PA for a technical team with British Telecom.
Molly has always had a passion for teaching and learning and finally made the decision to become a teacher. Her teaching career, of over 30 years in London and Yorkshire, has spanned all the education sectors. Molly has taught mainly in the primary education, specialising in children’s language development in which she has a Master’s degree.
She also passionate about reading with and for children from the very earliest age, and set up Mrs Molly’s Story Time for pre-school children.
Molly is now retired but still retains her enthusiasm for teaching and tutors privately. She is involved in local charities – The Samaritans, St Augustine’s and, of course, Curious Motion. Molly’s first experience with Curious Motion was a participant in Brews & Grooves, and since then she has become a volunteer, performance company member, and now a member of the board of directors!
She also enjoys a range of activities including reading, writing poetry, walking, being on her allotment, cooking, dancing and keeping fit.
She has lived in Elland for the last 18 years and has two children, Niamh and Liam. She has a very mischievous 14 year-old rescue Patterdale Terrier, called Barley.
