Eve Emsley

Producer/Dance Artist

Eve is a professional dance artist who has been facilitating dance and health based projects in Calderdale community settings for 10 years. Recently, Eve worked at St Augustine’s Centre as Deputy Head of the Activities team, working with families, children and support services.

Eve studied a Dance, Performance and Teaching BA undergraduate at University of Central Lancashire and completed a postgraduate MA degree in Choreography at Leeds Beckett University. Eve devises digital choreography for screen, film making and uses projection, working as a solo performer and devising in community settings. Eve describes her movement practice as somatic and rooted in improvisation, her practice is continuously developing and evolving.

Alongside Eve’s dance facilitation experience and training she has worked in Further Education as a Main Grade Lecturer delivering Dance, Digital Skills and ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages).

Eve then went on to complete postgraduate formal teacher training. Focusing on facilitation, trauma informed approaches and laying foundations for physical/psychological safety when working with young people and sanctuary seeking communities.

Eve has a wealth of leadership and management experience, focusing on person centred approaches and leading with compassion. Eve has developed and delivered CPD packages for a variety of teams including at Calderdale College, St Augustine’s Centre, Dancesyndrome and the NHS Foundation of Nursing Studies. Exploring themes around inclusivity in care settings, reflective practice, vision setting, trauma and bodily awareness and more.

Eve has extensive Safeguarding training, British Sign Language Level 1, First Aid training and is a Governor for Hebden Bridge Schools Federation.

Eve joined Curious Motion in 2025 as our Interim Manager/Producer; ‘steadying the ship’ whilst Sam, our Artistic Director, was on maternity leave. We are pleased that Eve remains part of the team now Sam is back. Eve works across a variety of projects including as a dance artist and in a producer role.
