Isla is a dance artist who loves to explore activism and social justice within her work, and believes that both dance spaces and performances should be accessible to all. Outside Curious Motion, Isla is a founding member of Yoodaloo Dance Theatre, and Evil Alex, both of which involve blending dance with theatre to create work that challenges what contemporary dance should or shouldn’t be. She is also a member of the Learning and Participation team at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance, and is part of the teaching team for Dance Action Zone Leeds (DAZL).
Isla joined Curious Motion in July 2021. She works as a dance artist across our different projects and also supports our communications, including managing our social media platforms and helping spread the word about our work. Isla also writes our blog Questions in Motion.
